The Challenge

A Household Name with No Organic Footprint

When we began working with this global networking brand's Philippines arm, their digital presence told a familiar story: a well-known name that had never needed to earn its search traffic. The site attracted visitors who already knew the brand - direct navigators and branded searchers - but had little visibility among the far larger pool of people searching for routers, networking solutions, and smart home devices without a brand in mind.

That was the surface problem. The deeper one emerged quickly.

The site runs on a custom-built CMS - and that CMS was not built with SEO flexibility in mind. Category pages, individual product pages, and key structural elements were effectively locked. Any technical change, no matter how minor, required sign-off from global headquarters and had to be executed by their own technical team, not ours.

Two of the three traditional SEO levers - technical optimization and on-page product/category work - were substantially out of reach. Everything we delivered had to work around that wall, not through it.

The Approach

Building Authority Within Constraints

Given the constraints, we focused exclusively on the levers we controlled: content and links. The strategy was to build topical authority in the spaces where the site could win - editorial content, buying guides, how-to resources, and category-adjacent topics that could rank independently and channel authority toward the locked pages we could not touch directly.

Content Strategy

We developed and produced a consistent pipeline of SEO-optimized blog and editorial content targeting non-branded, high-intent queries.

Keyword research scoped to Philippine search behavior and buying intent

Content mapped to the buyer journey, from awareness to consideration

Optimized for AI Overview eligibility with direct-answer structures

Published on a consistent cadence to build topical depth over time

Link Building

Off-site authority was built through white hat digital PR and link acquisition, targeting relevant Philippine publications, tech media, and authority domains.

Outreach to relevant Philippine tech and consumer media

Editorial placements and digital PR for linkable content assets

Technical SEO (Advisory)

While we could not execute technical changes directly, we conducted ongoing audits, produced detailed recommendations, and worked with the client's internal team and HQ contacts to move priority items through the approval process. Progress was slower than a standard engagement - but it was real.

The Results

+107% Organic Traffic in 24 Months

Over 24 months, monthly organic traffic grew from 40,756 sessions to 84,207 sessions - a 107% increase that compounded consistently throughout the engagement.

Metric Before (Feb 2024) After (Apr 2026)
Monthly Organic Traffic 40,756 sessions 84,207 sessions
Traffic Source Mix Primarily direct & branded Significant organic share
SEO Infrastructure Unoptimized; CMS constraints Content + links + technical gains
Content Strategy Ad hoc / minimal Consistent, topical, targeted

The growth was not the result of a single technical fix or an algorithm-driven windfall. It was built incrementally - content piece by content piece, link by link - on a foundation that the team controlled entirely. That makes it durable.

Despite working with a CMS that prevented optimization of the highest-value product and category pages, organic traffic still doubled. This result establishes the floor, not the ceiling.

Key Insight

What Made This Different

Most SEO engagements assume a certain level of technical access. This one did not have it. The custom CMS, the HQ approval process, the inability to directly touch category and product pages - these are exactly the conditions that cause other agencies to underdeliver, overpromise, or simply walk away from accountability.

The strategy here was built for the constraints, not in spite of them. We identified what could move, moved it consistently, and did not waste the engagement waiting for permissions that were slow to arrive.

The result is a traffic base that is organic in the truest sense: built on content and authority, not infrastructure that could shift.
